Working with "ip" Words

The following is just a quick activity involving the word family of "ip".  The students wrote down the words they were studying with the "ip" ending and then acted out the words.  It's a somewhat goofy thing to do, but I'm really trying to get them to remember and understand something.  The activity involves them listening, copying, writing, speaking, and acting out specific words.  Hopefully,  involving that many senses gives me an edge in getting them to fully remember and comprehend something, in this case, words that end in "ip".  The goal here being is for the students to remember, recognize, be able to spell and utilize words ending in "ip".

This is the words the students were working on.  I write the words down on the board, smartboard, or a piece of notebook paper and then the students copy the words on to paper.  I had them use big paper here to make for better photos, usually I tend to have them make flash card size so they can fit the words to study into their pocket.

First  Jayln holds up the paper with the word, "sip"  she has copied.  In this particular instance I think I had the students first write the words on the board, then make the bigger sheets.  Then she take a pretend "sip".

Above is a video of me reading the words off and Jayln acting out the words with the assistance of Savien.  I really should have spoke a bit more clearly, but you get the idea.  Most students like making movies/videos, so this is a pretty easy thing to do.

Acting out the word, "grip".

This is hard to see but there is a "drip" of water on the table.
