Temperature and a Data Sheet

The following is just a quickie time and temperature experiment.  My students need to understand how to read a thermometer(these read by 2s) and understand how temperature rises and falls.  Plus I want them to understand and be able to relate in a real physical sense of what hot water is by feel and by a more exact method of measurement.

The fact that we had also just read something in the book about refraction and the thermometer in the water demonstrated it very nicely was a nice value added sort of thing.

Here you can see Richard reading the temperature and hopefully noticing the phenomena of refraction occurring.

A data sheet recording the movement of temperature.

Ms. Yaire measuring the temperature of the water.

Another nice data sheet recording the change in temperature.

Here Ms. K. is measuring the temperature in her cup of water.

Our test is on google documents, if you'd like to take a look.
